Founded on September 22, 1984, St. Camillus Hospital,Kelakam, is a healthcare institution run by the Daughters of St. Camillus. Registered as a non-governmental organization, the hospital has steadily grown into a hub of compassionate and quality healthcare.
With the recent addition of our modern Modular Operation Theatre, we are ready to take a new leap in surgical excellence, while remaining rooted in our mission — to care for the sick with the heart of Christ.
Daughters of St. Camillus
The Daughters of St. Camillus is an international congregation founded in Rome, Italy, in 1892 by St. Giuseppina Vannini and Blessed Fr. Luigi Tezza, inspired by the charism of St. Camillus de Lellis (1550–1614), the patron saint of the sick, hospitals, and healthcare workers. Since its founding, the congregation has dedicated itself to serving the sick, suffering, and marginalized with compassion, dignity, and unwavering commitment — even at the risk of their own lives. Today, their mission of mercy extends across the world through hospitals, clinics, palliative care centers, and social outreach programs.
In 1984, responding to the healthcare needs of the local community, the congregation established St. Camillus Hospital in Chungakkunnu. Today, we are a trusted healthcare center for the people of the Kottiyoor region, and nearby areas like Peravoor, Iritty, Kelakam, Kolayad and Manathavady.
